About the Olympiad

What is the National Law Olympiad?
The National Law Olympiad is a unique competition designed to help students from Classes 9 to 12 learn about laws that impact their daily lives, including cyber laws, consumer rights, and fundamental rights, while competing for prizes and recognition.
Who can participate in the Olympiad?
Students from Classes 9 to 12 can participate. They will be categorized into:

Primer Group – For students of Classes 9 and 10
Capstone Group – For students of Classes 11 and 12
What are the benefits of participating in the Olympiad?
Students will:

  • Gain knowledge about their rights and legal protections
  • Learn how to stay safe online and avoid cyber fraud
  • Develop logical reasoning and debating skills
  • Compete for certificates, prizes, and national recognition
  • Get exposure to real-world legal scenarios

Registration & Fees

What is the registration fee?
The participation fee is ₹250 per student, which covers study materials, training sessions, and competition access.
How can a school register for the Olympiad?
Schools can register their students by contacting the event organizers and completing the registration process before [30/04/2025].
What is the last date for registration?
The last date for registration is April 30, 2025.
Can individual students register, or must they register through their school?
Students must register through their respective schools. Schools can nominate participants and facilitate the registration process.

Competition Structure

How does the competition work?
The competition is conducted in three stages:

1. School-Level Round – An online/offline quiz to test basic legal knowledge (Top 2 students from each class qualify).

2. Regional Round – Includes workshops, group discussions, and case-solving activities with law experts.

3. National Round – A Moot Court Challenge where students argue real legal cases, and the best performer earns the title of "India's First School Barrister."
What topics will be covered in the Olympiad?
Students will learn about:

  • Cyber laws & online safety
  • Consumer rights & fraud protection
  • Fundamental rights under the Constitution
  • Handling legal situations like bullying, fraud, and unfair treatment
Is the Olympiad conducted online or offline?
The School-Level Round can be conducted online or offline, based on the school's preference.

The Regional Round involves bootcamp sessions and team assignments.

The National Round (Moot Court Challenge) will be held at a designated venue.
When will the different rounds take place?
School-Level Olympiad Round – October 25, 2025
Regional & National Rounds – December 25, 2025 & January 26, 2026

How can students prepare for the Olympiad?

The Moot Court Challenge is a mock court trial where students take on roles of lawyers and argue real-life legal cases. The top performer will be awarded the title of "India's First School Barrister."
